okay i just realised unleash's like 3 weeks ago. wont be able to blog everything so i'll just give the main highlights/ the most memorable parts of camp [which is actually everything] and i'll elaborate on them when ive got time.
- power rangers! i love our group cheer man. and of course the cheer specially for me thank you =D
- night games. station games and underworld. it was cool tricking the campers into thinking that after station games which ended at 1am, there would be nothing else. and it was fun banging on their doors 45 minutes later and for those who didnt hear, we started opening the doors using the spare keys [yes, a lot of you were wondering why we had the keys. you guys were staying in the condo units that my grandpa bought, obviously i have the spares keys yeah x)]. i was supposed to be some high-ranking commando so i was free to move around and not stay in the stations. it was fun yelling at them and grabbing some random person/ people and asking them to drop 30 or pull them to the wonderful torture chamber. but those who didnt get what linus was talking about, here's the "moral[s]" of underworld:
1. you see people who you "thought" were your friends [i mean yeah we are your friends but you get what i mean right] not caring about you, screaming at you and being mean to you. so basically there'll definitely be times when a friend turns his/ her back on you, and Jesus is truly your best friend and you count on Him.
2. the difference between the soldiers [the people with the red band] and the "free people" [the people with the blue band] you realise we told you at the start that we were the rulers of the world, and to us only the red cards which you earn matter. and the blue cards were practically useless. the cards represent people's expectations and in the world, there will definitely be pressure to conform and the soldiers "forced" you to complete the tasks once you stepped into the box. so dont even take the first step and do something which you know is against what God wants, because it's hard to get out once you get caught. and as you guys saw in the end, the praises of men are only temporary. blue > red! store up treasures in heaven and not on earth. do not conform.
3. when you tried to get out of the tasks which the soldiers made you do, you had to be "tortured" and face punishment. there are times when you have to suffer for His name's sake. the world will hate you if you follow Him. but eventually it's all worth it.
4. unlike previous times, we had good people this time round. people to help you guys out and save you from the torture chamber. it's actually to show that even when you are suffering, He will always be there to help you- in this case placing people around you to get you out. okay! im done with the 4 main stuff and i hope im understandable. if you want to know the rest of the minor details and the meaning of it, you can come ask me or any of the camp comm. most things have meanings behind it, we thought very hard about it okay!
- morning runs, debriefs, jamming, watching the sun rise, and before camp all the meetings and what not, with the camp comm. sleeping in the conference room with the camp comm [yes we ran out of rooms so the conference room became our home. =D]
- the messages by psandrew
- all the worship sessions
- meals = bonding sessions with the rest of the youths
- all the games. wet games especially
- the bus ride there and back
thank you...
1. God- without Him, this camp would not have been possible. thank you for His grace and mercy from the early stages to camp itself. thank you for His providence and faithfulness to us. thank you for the opportunity given to all of us to glorify Him. basically, thank you God for everything you've done, and for who you are.
2. camp comm- linus, byron, brandon, jon, matt, xing, anna, meiting, samlee, marcus, davin.
linus- our tall [well not so tall] dark and handsome, kind gentle and nice camp commandant. [to our wonderful shuai ge, girls will come chasing after you.] thanks for your constant reminder to trust God to provide.
byron- linus' sidekick and the walking advertisement for sour power- strawberry flavour. thanks for always bringing all of us together eventually after conflicts/ disagreements and what not.
brandon- thanks dude for always encouraging us and constantly being there, being joyful not merely happy even though things arent going the way it should.
jon- the faith that you have in God despite everything that has happened still amazes me. haha but thanks for being the funny guy and optimistic and all.
matt- the very experienced guy. big brother is always watching us! x) but thanks for being a wonderful big brother to all of us, looking out for all of us and buying us snacks and what not lol.
xing- the stars will always shine as long as xing is around eh? lol, but thanks for always saying random stuff at the weirdest times and making everyone laugh.
anna- dajie! or rather ahma. but anyway, thanks for guiding us all the time and putting up with all our nonsense and rubbish.
meiting- the only one who can be considered sane in the camp comm and the knowledgeable one. without your organisation and taking down minutes, we would have died a long time ago.
samlee- haha linus' gay partner. you should stop suanning linus la, it's not his fault that he's got good genes and will always remain at the top of the camp comm's list of shuaiges right.
marcus- the super pro dancer. who was made to do a gay dance to sweet sixteen to entertain us. =D you rock man, there's so much more to life sweet sixteen grins.
davin- i finally understand what daniel means when he told me "if you can, please teach davin how to shut up" i dont think ive taught you how to, but eh daniel, what's wrong with davin talking? he makes sense, well some of the time. x)
3. power rangers- gengzhi nicole pamela vanessa theo agnes alex nathaniel zhiqiang.
go go power rangers! thanks for being a great group and for being responsive during QT. you guys made my job as a group leader easier. and ha, we own all the other groups. especially sour power [byron, power rangers own you guys] =D
4. all the youths- thank you for your never-ending support for the camp comm, your enthusiasm and cooperation. all hail bcyouths!
haha for the first time i inserted the cd miss v burnt for us and looked at all the photos taken during camp. ah i wished i wasnt too lazy to upload the photos but unfortunately i am, so no photoblogging ): and dear ryan and miss v takes the most rubbish photos [and the best ones]. my niece came to my house for a while just now and i was looking through the phots and she was standing behind me. and then there was one of brandon byron jon linus and samtan shirtless [it was after wet games] and showing off their abs and muscles [and kenny popping in and spoiling the whole atmosphere by making his spastic trademark face]. and my niece went "peiling jiejie, why they never wear shirts?" and i was all !!! oh no what should i say and i felt so bad for being a bad influence. i remember walking past them with cherlyn after wet games and slapping them on the back and going "eh what are you guys standing here for." and cherlyn and i were complaining to them that half the guys were half-naked and they're taking advantage of wet games. so that was what they were doing, posing for a photo for ryan, and making me feel bad for being a bad influence on my niece. rawr.
